Save our Council Nursery say Sparkhill parents

Parents and supporters gathered yesterday in Sparkhill Park to plan their campaign against the threat to close Park Road Day Nursery and the decision to hand over the Park Road Children’s Centre to a private provider.

Parents are filling in their petition, and the next step will be to call on their local Sparkbrook ward councillors – Mohammed Azim, Tony Kennedy and Victoria Quinn – and the MP for Hall Green, Roger Godsiff, to support their campaign. Contact Birmingham Kashmiri Women’s Council at if you can help.

Meanwhile the city-wide GMB petition now has over 800 signatures, and Birmingham NUT (now called the NEU-NUT) is also aiming to spread the campaign. More news soon. If you can help contact
