Birmingham People’s Assembly Launch Rally – 24th October

birmingham peoples assembly rally leaflet front smFollowing the 4,000 strong launch of the People’s Assembly in London in June we are launching the Birmingham People’s Assembly. We aim together campaigners from trade unions, welfare rights campaigns, anti-cuts campaigns and community organisations to build common ground in fighting austerity.

Thursday 24th October

7pm, Second City Suite, at the bottom of Hurst Street – 100 Sherlock St Birmingham, West Midlands B5 6LT

Speakers include:

· Len McCluskey, general secretary UNITE;

· Paul Nowak, assistant general secretary TUC;

· Salma Yaqoob;

· Lee Baron, CWU regional secretary

Plus speakers from the FBU, NUT, Disabled People Against Cuts, Birmingham Against the Cuts, Birmingham Libraries Campaign, Birmingham Benefit Justice Campaign and others

· Good disabled access

· Entertainment from Red Bird Sky who opened the Moseley Folk Festival and the Birmingham Clarion Singers

· Trade Union and campaign stalls

· Refreshments

· Love Music Hate Racism & Love Music Hate Homophobia after party
