Sparkhill JCP – Early Morning Sessions Break Guidance – Sanctions Applied Incorrectly

Sparkhill JCP windowAs we have reported Sparkhill Job Centre was recently closed after a customer who had been sanctioned smashed several windows. Sparkhill Job Centre has drawn attention from campaigners as it is known as a high sanctioning office.
It is now coming to light that there are other developments in the office.

Cancel all arrears caused by the tax.

We can’t wait for a Labour government to get rid of the bedroom tax – Labour councils must lead a campaign to get rid of the tax NOW.

Please bring any petitions against the bedroom tax to hand in to the council.
The meeting starts at 2pm – we need to be there before that to lobby the councillors as they go in.

Birmingham TUC Coach To Manchester Tory Conference Demonstration

The Bham TUC has a coach to Manchester TUC demonstration on Sunday 29th September.

The coach will leave at 9 am at the Megabus stop The Priory Queensway (next to the McLaren Tower)

Sparkhill Job Centre Closed Yesterday After Sanctioned Claimant Smashes Windows

Sparkhill JCP windowSparkhill Job Centre was closed today after five windows were smashed by a claimant who it appears had been sanctioned by an advisor at the centre. No staff were hurt in the attack, which highlights the effect on people of the savage sanctions regime put in place by Iain Duncan-Smith and the tories in charge of the DWP. This is far from the only time a desperate claimant has been placed in a position where the only response they have is one of anger or pain. Last year a claimant set themselves on fire outside Selly Oak job centre, and staff at JCPs have been given training to deal with suicidal claimants.
