Women’s Rally Against the Cuts
Birmingham City Council will be making over £300m worth of cuts by 2014/15. This will have an unprecedented affect on the city, but in particular the lives of women and children. We will see massive job cuts, benefit cuts, cuts in adult education and the youth service. We will also see the closure of libraries, day centres, community groups and parks, in addtion to the charging of museums and other venues. As women we will beat the heaviest burden of the mistakes and mis-spending of consecutive British governments. As students campaign against higher tuition fees, trade unions fight to defend public sector jobs and we witness massive protests across Europe, North Africa and the middle-east – we ask you to join us and let our voices be heard.
