


Right to Work have reported on Birmingham Against the Cuts public meeting, held on 17th Feb:
Speakers included councillor Salma Yaqoob and Caroline Johnson. Caroline is assistant branch secretary of Birmingham UNISON. She described the impact that 7,000 job losses will have on the city and was cheered when she said her members had voted in mass meetings to call for a strike ballot. “We’re standing up for our jobs and services, stand up with us” she said.
Speakers from the floor included Birmingham Connexions, Citizens Advice Bureau, CROSS, the Blood Service, Birmingham University students.
